What our clients say

Testimonials

As a young single parent I sometimes feel alone without a clear direction in my parenting. Working with Denise gave me strategies, support and most of all confidence in myself that I have the skills to handle what my kids throw at me! She guided me through conversations without judgement leaving me with a more positive outlook and fresh perspective. She is a compassionate listener that always made me feel comfortable.

Denise coached me through a challenging situation with my teenagers.  Her warmth and compassion helped me feel comfortable taking an  honest look at what was happening in my family.   She helped me clarify my values and my aspirations and she supported me to make significant improvements in my relationship with my teens.   I would recommend her to my friends without hesitation.

Denise is a fantastic parenting coach and an excellent choice for families who may want to explore something outside of traditional therapy.  She has many tools from her long experience in childhood development.  She guided us in ways that made sense for our child and our family.  She was also an empathetic listener and just being able to talk openly about our struggles and successes allowed us to see new perspectives.  Her coaching style made us feel at ease and it made a big difference in our family.

Parents

Working with Denise has helped me to gain perspective on the relationship I have and want to have with my children.  She led me to understand how to find space and understanding  for myself in order to be able to have that with my children and also to remember to cultivate those moments of joy we have together so they can continue to grow and deepen as our relationship does.

Julie

Parent

I had all the head knowledge because I had attended parenting classes, listened to parenting books, all the things, but I struggled to put it into practice with my own twice exceptional kiddos. I knew what I wanted to do; I knew why I wanted to do it; I just couldn’t actually do it. Denise helped me identify that my own regulation was the single most important area for me to focus, and she showed me that doing very small (seemingly inconsequential) things throughout the day would give my own nervous system a break. Given my bias for action, she didn’t give me more things to do, she helped me be intentional about slowing down. It has really helped. …. I’ve done therapy myself and we have both kiddos with therapists, and I find that Denise’s coaching is a good complement to that work. I highly recommend Denise for any parent or guardian looking to be a better version of themselves.

Denise consulted with my child’s school-based team as a part of his special education evaluation. She coached us all to think differently about the needs of my child. Her care for everyone in this situation changed my child’s life.

When we become aware that how we react to our kids behavior has more to do with how we’re feeling than what our kids are doing, we understand that our main job as parents must be to keep ourselves emotionally healthy.

They are so much more than what you see. As you are.”
