My Story

Denise Templer Sironen

As a licensed school psychologist, a certified parent coach, and a mom of three, I know first-hand how hard and rewarding raising kids can be. My work with parents is grounded in my belief that children and parents want to do their best and that any parent’s deepest desire is to raise healthy kids. My extensive training enables me to support you in your efforts to learn proven parenting approaches tailored to your and your family’s unique strengths.

I believe that showing parents how to leverage their strengths can lead to more effective parenting and bring back joy to stressed families. While my background as a school psychologist and my continuing education in the field of positive parenting provide me with expertise in many areas, you are the expert on your child. Within the coaching relationship, we will work as a team to find durable solutions that work for you and your family.

We all go through some type of challenge while raising kids; through the process of coaching, you will feel less alone and more supported, including navigating outside systems and influences that are involved with our kids. With over twenty-eight years’ experience as a school psychologist, I also provide the unique ability, if needed, to partner with families as they navigate the often-daunting various educational systems.

What Is a Parent Coach?

A parent coach is a certified professional who helps you cultivate a better relationship with your children by inspiring potential beyond perceived limitations.

A parent coach gives customized support and advice based on each individual family’s needs and based on the unique strengths of the parent and child.

A parent coach addresses specific issues such as problems with routines and transitions, power struggles, parental anger, discipline, homework challenges, chores, and “disrespectful” behavior.

A parent coach assists parents in creating parenting plans and then supports them as they practice these plans — helping to problem-solve as challenges arise while cultivating existing strengths.
